The Town of Shaunavon has recently begun a couple of big projects in the community.

A construction project on First Avenue has begun this week that will dig material out, layer with geotech fabric and installed new catch basins and drain lines on the ditch to the south of First Avenue.

Completion of the project is estimated to be in a couple of weeks, and during that time motorists are asked to use an alternative route.

Shaunavon Town Council is committed to the safety of residents, as well as those persons in the surrounding RM's, which is why they are investing infrastructure related to the drinking water to increase access to potable water while improving health and safety.

Town Council decided that, after the success of the 2019 pilot project to add UV Filtration to Well Number 5, that they are now moving forward.

Currently, construction to install a UV reactor system and rehabilitate four new pump buildings and wells has begun.

Work is near completion on Well Number 8, and once finished, Wells Number 1  and 2 will be taken offline to do upgrades, followed by Wells 9 and 10.

During the construction and upgrades, water services will continue as normal. There will be no interruptions to water services.
