The two men charged with kidnapping from a May 2nd incident in Swift Current appeared in Swift Current Provincial court yesterday.

Both Chad Whyte and Matthew Shiloff had their court cases adjourned to allow their respective defence counsels to speak to the Crown Prosecutor.

The Assiniboia residents are both facing 9 charges each that include - one count of kidnapping, two counts of extortion, two counts of forcible confinement, one count of caring a weapon dangerous to the public peace, one count of assault, one count of robbery and one count of theft.

Whyte and Shiloff's co-accused Kristen Morgan was denied bail on Friday, May 5th, due to Judge Karl Bazin's concern for the public's safety. Judge Bazin also stated that her release would bring the administration of justice into disrepute.

Both men will be remanded in custody until May 17th when they're scheduled to appear back in Swift Current Provincial Court via video link.
