The CPCK Holiday Train is scheduled to make two stops in southwestern Saskatchewan in December just mere days before Christmas.

Swift Current will be the first destination on December 19 as the train will pull into the CPKC Station along North Railway Street East at 9:30 a.m.

Entertainment featuring Canadian country star Dallas Smith and Medicine Hat's MacKenzie Porter will commence at 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

"Even though it's a morning show, we do anticipate we will get a great turnout and provide great entertainers for the community and give back to the local food bank," said CPKC Spokesperson Terry Cunha.

The Christmas-themed locomotive will then depart the southwest's largest city and arrive in Maple Creek at 1:30 p.m. stopping at the CPKC TMS Shack on Pacific Avenue.

"It's an engaging opportunity for the rail company to get back into the community and offer up an opportunity to showcase our services," he said. "More importantly it's a way to raise money and also support local food banks."
