The Saskatchewan RCMP's Explosive Disposal Unit were called into action about a week ago to dispose of some explosives found on a rural property near Outlook.

The RCMP's EDU attended the scene on April 14 and were able to dispose of 10 sticks of bulk explosives.

"Please remember that no matter how old an explosive is, it can still be extremely dangerous," says Cst. Chris Donnelly. "We want our residents to be safe and the safest thing to do is to call the police service of jurisdiction. This will ensure removal or destruction of explosives is done in the safest possible manner."

This call to action for the EDU was common as they recover a substantial amount of unused commercial explosives from rural properties throughout the year and dispose of them at no cost to the public.
