A weather advisory is in effect for southwest Saskatchewan as funnel clouds loom on the horizon.

The threat level of these funnel clouds isn't too high, as they form with weak thunderstorms when weak rotation forms underneath them. The risk of a tornado happening is low, but it is best to be aware and cautious.

This kind of tornado is referred to as a 'landspout tornado'. While not famous for causing tremendous damage, they can still prove harmful. They are typically strong enough to topple trees, damage roofing, and toss debris around the general area with some force.

If anyone spots a funnel cloud, take shelter immediately.
