With all the changes happening surrounding the COVID-19, even flying domestically looks much different.

Swift Current’s Kathy Jennings recently returned from the trip to Ontario, flying out of Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

She described the situation when she arrived at Canada’s busiest airport.

“Once you reach the airport and got into where you check-in, there was barely anybody there. It was like a ghost town. It was really surreal. It was unreal,” Jennings said.

She added that during her time in the airport, security was very good at taking precautions.

Meanwhile, the scene on the airplane was a lot different the Jennings was expecting.

“Even on the plane, it was really different. On the plane for us, it was basically we all had our own seat in the row so we weren’t sitting side-by-side and the only ones that were I think were couples, so it was just really different,” she said.

One thing that did surprise Jennings was the lack of testing for symptoms of COVID-19. She said nothing happened when she boarded or got off of the plane.
