The SCCHS music department held its final concert of the end of the year yesterday evening, featuring all three concert bands and both concert choirs.

The concert ran from 7 - 9 p.m. in the high school's cafeteria and attracted somewhere around 100 family members, friends, parents, and guests.

Aaron Thingelstad, director of bands at SCCHS, noted that the evening featured a full program that the students have been working on all year.

"I'm glad we get to do it on the date that we originally planned for, I know our graduates are really excited to have a great concert tonight so we're going to pay a little tribute to them," said Thingelstad. "We're just looking forward to finishing up the year on a high note."

The grade nine Wind Symphony kicked off the evening with a Canadian classic, 'Sketches of Canada', followed by the Meistersingers, the grade 10 Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Singers, and the grade 11 and 12 Wind Orchestra closed off the evening with a grand finale.

"Just a big thanks to all the support from the local community for supporting arts here at the high school and a big thank you to all the students and staff involved in putting these big productions on," he concluded.
