Local minor ball players are competing with Team Saskatchewan for Baseball Canada national championships across the country this weekend. 

Emma Murdoch is in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, with Team Saskatchewan for the national girls’ 16U championship, with their opening game against Manitoba this morning. Saskatchewan will face Quebec this afternoon with games against New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador on Friday and the hosts from PEI on Saturday.

Aiden Kilshaw and Mason Fauser are with Team Saskatchewan for the 15U Ray Carter Cup in Laval, Quebec and will open the event against British Columbia this afternoon before taking on the host team from Quebec tonight. Saskatchewan will have games against a second team from Quebec as well as Ontario to wrap up the round-robin on Friday.

Dane Irwin will join local coaches Joe Carnahan and Taylor MacDonnell for the 13U national championship in Woodstock, Ontario. Saskatchewan’s first game will be against Manitoba this afternoon, and then they'll take on Ontario and Quebec on Friday.

The tournaments continue to Sunday.
