(did you know I'm 50% Irish)

Thought I'd share some of my thoughts and observations with you on this wintery Tuesday morning in March with colder temperatures, snow and blowing snow still hanging around southwest Saskatchewan. With that being said, the spring equinox arrives in our fine province at 9:33am on Sunday, March 20. That means we're less than two weeks away from spring so hang in there friends.

I wanted to give special recognition to all the wonderful women of the world today on International Women's Day and in particular some of the women who have been a big part of my life over the years; My dear old mother Beth, three big sisters Verlea, Karen, and Dianne, grandma Margaret, and my nieces and great nieces. Keep being awesome.

Someone once said none of us can stop the progression of time and there's also the timeless saying "time marches on" (very fitting for this month). The month of March also reminds me of a couple birthdays; My dad would have celebrated his 97th birthday this month and my step-dad Al will celebrate his 89th birthday on March 31.

March also brings us the annual opportunity to embrace our inner-Irish with St. Patrick's Day. I'm half Irish on me mother's side...yes it be true but I've never had a Shamrock Shake. So that's one thing I'm going to do for sure between now and March 17...head to Mickey Ds and order one up.

Have a great day all and make sure you recognize all the awesome women in your life today.
