Swift Current Broncos forwards Riley Stotts and Max Patterson will have some extra eyes on them this season now that they are on the NHL Central Scouting watch list for the 2018 NHL Draft.

They are both listed as 'C' level prospects who could be picked in the later rounds (fourth, fifth, or sixth).

Stotts says he uses it for fuel to attain some personal goals, but the ability to stay concentrated on what lies ahead is important for him and the team.

"It's always in the back of my mind, but I use it as motivation to keep pushing each day as much as I can to be able to reach the goals I have set for myself, and I'm looking forward to what the future holds," Stotts said. "I mean it's pretty cool, but I've just got to keep focusing on the year, keep focusing on improving each day, and helping my team out as much as I can for these upcoming games."

As for Patterson, the selection to the list may have caught the towering 6-foot-5 forward off guard.

"It was nice - I wasn't really expecting it, but it was definitely nice to see," he said. "I guess it stays in the back of your mind a bit, but at the same time, it's all about the team and getting wins."

As more attention is sure to be on him after cracking the list, Patterson says he knows there are some things to improve on as scouts track him.

"I think showing that I can move my feet as a big guy, playing physical, and being hard on pucks - little stuff like that," he said.

In other Broncos news, the club earned an honourable mention in the weekly CHL Top 10 rankings.

Stotts, Patterson and the Broncos have three games in three days this weekend starting tomorrow night in Saskatoon, before hosting Kootenay on Saturday, and heading to Moose Jaw on Sunday.
