In the Monday August 17 daily COVID-19 report, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting one new case of the virus in the province.

That new case is in the South West Zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,581. Of those cases 172 are considered active.

There are 49 active COVID-19 cases in the South West.

Investigations completed thus far have that 113 of the 172 active cases are in communal living settings.

There are 22 recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,387.

Eight people are in hospital in the province. There are four receiving inpatient care - 2 in the South West, 1 in Saskatoon, and 1 in Regina.

Four people are in intensive care, all in Saskatoon.

There have been 22 deaths related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.

To date, 123, 288 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.

Yesterday there were 1,043 tests performed.
