Bring your bikes and helmets to Riverdene Park tomorrow for the annual bike safety event.

The event is being put on by the City of Swift Current along with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current and will be taking place from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Val Choo-Foo, In Motion Community Facilitator with the city provides details on the event.

"The event, just like other years is going to feature some bike and helmet inspections, safety awareness and fun cycling activities on that outdoor Sheldon Kennedy rink. Also, chances to win some great prizes and some free hot dogs from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm."

Choo-Foo encourages kids and families to also try out the new Kiwanis bike park during the event and explains what attendees should bring along with them.

"First of all you do not need to pre-register so just come on down anytime. It's very helpful if you have a bike to bring with you, especially for your kids and a helmet. We will be checking those to make sure the helmets fit properly and checking the brakes, tires and chains on your bike. and if by chance you do not have a bike helmet you can still come down as we have some to give away."

Anyone looking for more information can call the City of Swift Current or visit their website

Choo-Foo adds that she wishes to thank all the sponsors, community volunteers and partners involved.
