A man from Knoxville, Tennessee has been charged by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit after a seizure by the Canada Border Services Agency on Friday. The seizure and arrest happened at the port of North Portal.

Brandon Eugene Johnson was arrested after the discovery of suspected child pornography on his electronic devices after they were examined CBSA officers when he was crossing into Canada. The images were handed off to the ICE unit, who confirmed the suspected images were child pornography. The 43-year-old man was charged with possession of child pornography, and importation of child pornography. He made his first court appearance Monday morning in Estevan Provincial Court.

The Saskatchewan ICE unit is made up of officers from the RCMP, the Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. They are mandated to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet
