Southwest residents can give themselves a pat on the back for helping contribute to the province currently being ranked number one in Canada in building construction investments.

According to Stats Canada, Saskatchewan has seen a 9.7 per cent increase in building construction investments, showcasing the successful economy.

Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development, noted "This investment does not happen by accident, it is a result of our government's commitment to building a competitive and stable business environment and reducing unnecessary regulatory burden.

"This investment is leading to new jobs and more opportunities for people across Saskatchewan."

Additionally, building construction in the province saw a 21.8 per cent year-over-year increase and non-residential building construction increased by 3.5 per cent in April this year.
