It was a very successful weekend for local athletes at the SHSAA Provincial Track and Field championships in Saskatoon on the weekend.

The Swift Current Comprehensive High School Colts and Ardens took home a fifth consecutive 5A team title with 664.5 points. Eastend finished second among 1A schools and Gull Lake placed third in the 2A team rankings.

Seven athletes won gold medals, with Kyler Duclos winning the intermediate boys' aggregate title while setting a provincial record in triple jump. Jace Egland of Eastend was the junior boys' aggregate winner.

  • Kyler Duclos (SCCHS) - Intermediate boys' 100m, triple jump, 200m, and long jump
  • Jace Egland (Eastend) - Junior boys' javelin
  • Emily McCleary (SCCHS) - Intermediate girls' long jump
  • Keegan Jensen (Gull Lake) - Intermediate boys' 400m
  • Brooklyn Leppa (Gull Lake) - Junior girls' quad
  • Olami Akinfiresoye (SCCHS) - Senior girls' high jump
  • Karlson Orthner (SCCHS) - Wheelchair

Silver medallists:

  • Jace Egland (Eastend) - Junior boys' shot put
  • Emily McCleary (SCCHS) - Intermediate girls' triple jump
  • Jessy Hitchcock (Vanguard) - Intermediate boys' triple jump and long jump
  • Lyla Thiessen (SCCHS) - Junior girls' pole vault and hurdles
  • Carter Tuplin (SCCHS) - Senior boys' hurdles
  • Brynne Leppa (Gull Lake) - Senior girls' discus
  • Colter Folk (SCCHS) - Junior boys' 1500m and 3000m
  • Keegan Jensen, Ryan Ugalino, Elliot Jahnke, Kyler Duclos - Intermediate boys' 4x100m relay
  • Derric Dulatre, Rohne Foster, Rowan Reimer, Carter Tuplin - Senior boys' 4x100m relay
