The Tuesday July 28 daily COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting one more death in the province.

One person from the South has died. This person was in the 70-79 age range.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 17.

The SHA is also reporting nine new cases of the virus today in the province.

The new cases are three in the South, two in Saskatoon, two in the North, one in the Central Region and one in Regina.

That brings the provincial total of cases to 1, 218. One case has their location pending. 

There are 294 active cases in the province.

There are 154 active cases in the South.

There are 21 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 907.

There are currently 13 people in hospital. Eight people are receiving inpatient care-three in Saskatoon, two in the Central Region, two in the South and one in Regina. There are currently five people in intensive care-three in Saskatoon and two in Regina.

To date, 93,669 COVID-19 tests have been done in Saskatchewan.

Yesterday alone, 873 COVID-19 tests were performed in the province.
