In the October 8 COVID-19 update The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of 18 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 18 new cases. there are 3 in the Far North West zone,2 in the Far North East zone, 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 1 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 2,012, of which 143 are considered active.

There are 3 active cases in the South West zone.

There have been 13 more recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 1,845.

There are 7 people in hospital. Six are receiving inpatient care-5 in Saskatoon and 1 in Regina. And one person is in intensive care in Regina.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 in the province.

To date, there has been 207,230 COVID-19 tests done in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,767 COVID-19 tests done.

COVID-19 cases among children and youth aged 0-19 were updated today.

For the week of September 28 to October 4 the SHA is reporting a total of 35 active cases in children and youth in the province.

Of those 35 cases, there is 1 in the Far North zone,2 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 7 in the Central East zone, 17 in the Saskatoon zone,6 in the Regina zone, and 2 in the South Central zone.
