In the July 29 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 50 new cases of the virus in the province.

The new cases include 44 in the North, 3 in the South, 2 in Regina, and 1 in the Central Region. One case location is pending.

Of the 50 cases reported today, 44 are from one communal living setting.

This brings the provincial total of cases to 1,268, with 322 considered active.

In the South there are 143 active cases reported.

The SHA says in the update that the reported increase is a result of aggressive contact tracing and increased testing.

There are 22 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 929.

There have been 17 COVID-19 deaths.

There are also currently 15 people in hospital. Ten are receiving inpatient care- three in Saskatoon, two in the Central Region, four in the South, and one in Regina.

There is currently five people in intensive care-three in Saskatoon and two in Regina.

To date, 95,024 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, July 28, there were 1,355 COVID-19 tests performed.
