The Royal Saskatchewan Museum is bringing the "Hunter of the Prairie Sea" exhibit to the Swift Current Museum, with the official unveiling set for this afternoon.

Museum Curator Lloyd Begley says the exhibit is a 35-foot tylosaur skeleton, discovered on the shores of Lake Diefenbaker north of Rush Lake in 1995. "It was discovered by a fellow out hunting, and was walking along on his land and looked over one afternoon and there it was, an eye socket peeking at him through the mud and the clay."

Begley adds the Tylosaur is a prehistoric sea reptile who 75 million years ago swam around in sea waters that covered what is now North America.

The museum will be open today from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, with the grand unveiling of the Tylosaur happening at 2:00pm, and the public is invited to attend.
