Swift Current and Moose Jaw will renew their rivalry tonight as the Wolverines host the Mustangs in Prairie Gold Junior Lacrosse League action.

The Wolverines are 4-2-0 after six games following two losses to the Prince Albert Predators on the weekend. The Mustangs are winless after three games with Swift Current winning the first meeting between the two teams 11-6 on April 27 in Moose Jaw.

Ball drop is at 8:00 p.m. from S3 Arenas.

Avs stay alive against Stars

Cale Makar scored twice as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Dallas Stars 5-3 in game five of their NHL playoff series. The Avs snapped a three-game losing streak to stave off elimination and force a sixth game of the series on Friday in Denver.

Tonight, the Carolina Hurricanes host the New York Rangers with a chance to erase a 3-0 deficit and force a seventh game of that series, and the Vancouver Canucks welcome the Edmonton Oilers with that series tied at two games apiece.

Canada takes on Norway at World Men's

After surviving a scare against Austria on Tuesday, Canada continues round-robin play at the World Men’s Hockey Championship against Norway this afternoon in Prague. Canada stayed unbeaten with a 7-6 OT win over Austria despite squandering a 6-1 lead after two periods. 

At the Centennial Cup, the Melfort Mustangs clinched top spot in their pool with a 3-1 win over the host Oakville Blades in their final round-robin game on Wednesday night. 

O's walk off Jays to split rain-shortened series

Adley Rutschman hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Baltimore Orioles to a 3-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays and a split of a rain-shortened two-game set at Camden Yards.

The Jays are off today before returning to Rogers Centre to host the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.
