It's thunderstorm season in the southwest with yesterday's system bringing thunder, moisture and a tornado warning in the early evening.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the conditions didn't result in any tornado touchdowns around the southwest. 

Meteorologist Erin Staunton advises residents in the area to be prepared for severe weather at this time of year.

"Keep an eye on the latest forecasts and alerts for your area, and if you do see severe weather approaching, be sure to take shelter," she said. 

Today's forecast includes a risk for a thunderstorm, although so far there are no warnings in effect for the southwest. 

As of this morning, Swift Current recorded 3.6 millimetres of rain over the past 24 hours, and Cypress Hills received 2 millimetres.
