A local business will hold a customer appreciation event to raise funds to help provide food for needy community members.

CMX Powersports will host their event on Saturday, June 8 at their location in Swift Current, from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Ken Erickson, fixed operations manager at CMX Powersports, notes that any companies interested can donate to the 'Feed Swift Current' campaign and help them reach their goal of $5, 000.

"We do customer appreciation days every year, said Erickson. "We haven't done one where our whole focus was raising for the community as of yet because we do donate to local causes a lot."

Live music from a local band will be featured and food will be available for purchase including burgers, chips, pop, and cupcakes for $10.

Additionally, there will be an obstacle course for kids, a bouncy castle, water balloons, a brisket smoke-off, and a chance to win a grill or kid's quad.

"Camp Chef corporate actually donated the grill for us to give away for this cause," he said.

CMX plans to use the proceeds to purchase a massive amount of groceries from local stores once a week to be donated.

"It's going to be a big party all day that we are really hoping to see a lot of turnout for," Erickson concluded.
