Four members of the Diamond Energy Female Midget AAA Wildcats have earned either league awards or all-star honours after the SFMAAAHL unveiled its annual recipients Friday afternoon.

Amaya Giraudier

First-Team All-Star & Co-Recipient of the 'Brittony Chartier Top Goalie' Award

Giraudier had about as good of a year between the pipes as the Wildcats could have hoped for.

The Assiniboia product split starts with fellow goalie Cheyenne Jamieson, playing an even 15 of 30 games in the crease.

Giraudier recorded a 14-1 record, 1.20 goals-against-average, a .949 save-percentage, and four shutouts over that stretch. Her save-percentage was the best in the SFMAAAHL, those 14 wins were tied for tops in the league, the goals-against-average was the second-lowest - trailing the best mark by just 0.03 of a goal - while her shutout total was tied for second-highest.

The three-year Wildcat will be back for her fourth campaign in 2020-21, looking to dominate as a grade 12 ace.

Sara Kendall

First-Team All-Star

There wasn't much that didn't go right for the Ponteix product, and alternate captain in her final AAA season this year.

Kendall played in all 30 regular-season games for the Wildcats, recording a career-best 20 goals and 47 points. Her 20 goals were third-most in the league, while her 27 assists were second-best and just one back of the league lead.

The forward recorded 14 multi-point games, including four two-goal games, and seven with three-or-more points. Kendall was held pointless in just six games this season.

A league-best seven of her goals were game-winners, while she also recorded the second-most powerplay goals (seven) on the season. Kendall added a league-best 13 powerplay assists as well.

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies commit wraps up her Wildcats' career having played 97 combined regular-season and playoff games. Over that span, Kendall racked up 105 points (54 G, 51 A).

Her 48 regular-season goals are third all-time in the organization.

Baylee Kirwan

Second-Team All-Star & 'Fiona Smith Most Sportsmanlike Player' Award-Winner

Year 3 in a Wildcats uniform was a prosperous one for Kirwan, who had a nose for the net all year long.

Kirwan - though listed as having played all 30 games on the league website - graced the lineup for 29 contests in the regular season this year.

Over that time, she rattled off a league-best 29 goals, adding 12 assists for the third-highest point total in the SFMAAAHL (41).

The Gull Lake product recorded a league-best eight powerplay goals. Identically to Kendall, Kirwan had just six scoreless contests this season. She boasted three hat-tricks as well.

Kirwan's 29 goals were also tied for the second-most in a regular season in Wildcats' history. She trails only Taylor Lind's 2016-17 total (36), drawing even with Lind's 2018-19 total accomplished in 28 games.

The verbal commit of Robert Morris University will be the top gun on the Wildcats coming back for her grade 12 season. She finished with the second-most points on the Wildcats and is the only returnee among the team's top seven in points.

Maddy McCleary

Second-Team All-Star

Serving as team captain of her hometown club, McCleary somehow increased her dependability on the blueline for the Wildcats in her final campaign.

McCleary posted career-highs of seven goals and 25 points in 30 games for Swift Current.

Her 25 points were the second-most among defensemen in the league. McCleary also added the second-most powerplay assists in the league (11) overall, and tied for the second-most powerplay goals (four) among blueliners.

For the fourth-straight year, McCleary failed to miss a regular-season contest, and retires as a Wildcat having also played in all 18 playoff games from 2016-19 as well.

McCleary played in 132 total regular-season and playoff games with Swift Current, recording 17 goals and 60 points.

Her 114 career regular-season games played sits as the most all-time in franchise history.

McCleary will be suiting up for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns starting this fall.
