The Swift Current SPCA hosted its second annual Adoptathon event in partnership with Dufresne Furniture and Appliances over the weekend.

Around 10 vendors were set up in the Dufresne parking lot complete with a bouncy castle, steaming slices from Pizza Stop, local crafters and a big raffle giveaway.

Fundraising manager for the animal shelter, Ashley Muhle, said while the southwest was bustling with several big events, community members still managed to stop by and show support throughout the morning.

"It was a little slower than what we were hoping, but it was a very busy weekend," she said. "We had a great time, and the people who came out were amazing. We thank all our vendors for coming out, and Samsung and Dufresne for donating the washer and dryer set."
