City weighs in on potential cell tower site

A few more details regarding the SaskTel cell tower on the south side of Swift Current have emerged.

The City of Swift Current has encouraged the Crown Corporation to use two other sites instead of the proposed one at 440 Central Avenue South.

However, SaskTel deemed the alternative locations not suitable for the project as they did not provide the service required for the area.

If the land, that's owned by the province, is used for the tower, the City would like it as far away as possible from the Plewis Automotive Group Inclusive Park. They would also like fencing and shrubs to accompany it.

The City has received some public concerns regarding this proposal but those should be addressed with SaskTel at 306-777-2438 or corporate.comments@sasktel.com
