The former director of the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation, made his first court appearance this morning.

Jim Dekowny was represented by his lawyer, Darren Kraushaar of Regina's McDougall Gauley LLP, over the phone and didn't attend himself. Kraushaar was able to appeal for an adjournment, which was granted for July 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Dekowny is facing a charge of fraud over $5,000, which in a release from the RCMP is stated to have occurred from January 2020 through to March 2023.

The Crown prosecutor, Greg Lee, chose to proceed with the case as an indictable offence.
