They’re that friendly voice that greets you when you dial up the 24-hour Crisis Line, and more of those voices are needed.

Volunteers are being sought to answer calls for the Crisis Line.

The Crisis Line is a 24-hour phone service to people who need support and someone to talk to.

The service is managed by Southwest Crisis Services.

Betty McDougall is a Violence Prevention Educator. She says the next orientation session goes in September.

olunteers answer the crisis calls in the privacy of their own home and are provided with a directory of community resources.

A criminal record check is also done.
