The Swift Current Broncos know what their blueline will look like this year.

The team is down to seven D-men after a round of re-assignments on Thursday, leaving Dane Crowley, Myles Rumsey, RJ Larochelle, Karl Benke, Paul Postma, Michael Wilson and newcomer Derek Claffey.

The defenseman will have to be aware of the new obstruction rules, what they used to be able to do defensively may be frowned upon by WHL referees this year.

Myles Rumsey says they have to learn how to play the game another way.

He feels early success will be felt by the teams that adjust to the new rules the fastest. Rumsey says it'll all come down to positioning and quick feet on the ice.

The Broncos next exhibition game will be Friday in Brandon.
