Roadwork is well underway for a bridge replacement on Highway Four, south of Swift Current.

Coming in at a total cost of $1.2 million, the Ministry of Highway is replacing the old bridge 13 kilometres north of Cadillac.

During the work, a temporary detour is in place. Dan Palmer, spokesperson for the Ministry of Highways, thanks people for their understanding during the project.

"(We just ask people to) be patient and cautious during construction," said Palmer. "There'll be two-directional traffic and that's going to be controlled using a temporary traffic light on a single single wide lane."

While this project began in April, the deadline for completion is this summer.

This work takes place with the culvert installation that was supposed to wrap up today.
