Hutch Ambulance in Swift Current is preparing to celebrate another Paramedic Services Week with a big barbecue, inviting the community to join them and learn about all they do.

Paramedic Services Week is a time of recognition for medical first responders, celebrated across Canada. The theme for 2024 is ‘Help Us Help You’, intended to highlight all the ways in which paramedics help the community, and how community members can support them in return.

Trent Meyer, a primary care paramedic with Hutch Ambulance talked about how they are participating in the week locally.

“All the proceeds will be going to local charities,” explained Meyer. “After the door prizes, there will be some games and activities for the kids too.”

The barbecue will be on Thursday, May 23 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at Hutch Ambulance, 78 5th Ave. Northeast. $7.00 can get hot dog, a drink and a bag of chips. The small fee doubles as an entry for door prizes, which include Lego sets, first aid kits and much more.
