Swift Current may be the place 'Where Life Makes Sense,' but sometimes life still throws in a little of the unexpected.

While the downfall of snow might have been quite the surprise for most, folks still managed to remain relatively safe according to Staff Sergeant Evan Gordon.

“What we saw this last large snowfall were very few local collisions, actually,” he said. “Swift Current municipal detachment was called to really only one collision during that timeframe.”

Gordon said this could be attributed to the fact that it was a Sunday and most folks were at home, or that they saw how bad the weather was and decided not to attempt the roads.

While the snow sticks around, everyone is encouraged to continue practicing caution and vigilance, such as giving themselves extra time to get where they’re going and paying attention to road conditions.

“If you haven’t done so, maybe give consideration to winter tires,” Gordon added. “Just making sure that your vehicle is ready to go for winter driving.”
