The motor vehicle collision that closed Highway 4 yesterday claimed the life of a Swift Current man.

The fatality is confirmed to have been a Swift Current resident. The 52-year-old was the sole occupant of the SUV, which was in a collision with a semi-truck 15 kilometres south of Elrose.

The driver of the semi did not report any injuries to officers at the scene but was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Highway 4 has now reopened, with Rosetown RCMP working alongside a Sask. RCMP collision reconstructionist to investigate this incident further.
