A funnel cloud advisory has been issued for a few RMs in the southwest.

Folks anywhere from Gull Lake to Murray Dale, all the way up to Fox Valley should keep their eyes to the skies.

Weather conditions are currently favourable for the development of the types of funnel clouds that are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds, or weak thunderstorms.

While generally not a danger near the ground, there is a chance that the rotation could intensify and become a weak land spout tornado.

If conditions become more favourable for the development of tornadoes, Environment Canada will issue watches and warnings.  However, they still advise folks to treat any funnel cloud sighting seriously.

Should a funnel cloud develop nearby, prepare to take shelter, as this kind usually appear with little or no warning.
