Later this month, Sask. Power's Windscape Kite Festival will be hosting an afternoon gathering called Kite Tail Connections.

The first-time event will take place from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 at the Swift Current Mall.

Member of the Windscape volunteer committee, Christine Ciona, encourages families and community members of all ages to stop by the event.

"We don't have to wait for the snow to melt and the land to be dry to celebrate kites and we're going be doing it together with Kite Tail Connections," said Ciona.

The event will showcase the art of kites, involve family-friendly fun, and allow the community to network and connect.

"Whether or not you want to volunteer, this is really a chance to build connections and get to know people in our community and meet new people," Ciona noted.

The kite festival is made possible through the countless volunteers and more volunteers are always more than welcome.

"We are doing this every single month, so stay tuned," said Ciona. "You can come and join us, we're going to be doing this at random locations around the community."

People who are interested in volunteering can call Christine Ciona at (306)-774-6478 or email the committee at volunteer@windscapekitefestival.ca.

"We're just really excited to be part of this community and to have all of this support from Swift Current and southwest Sask. and beyond!" Ciona concluded.
