This morning's extreme cold has caused multiple schools around the southwest to cancel their bus routes.

As of 7 a.m., families in the following communities will have to find alternate transportation for their children: Swift Current, Hodgeville, Hazlet, Ponteix, Herbert, Wymark, Eastend, Consul, Val Marie and Gull Lake. 

The wind chill of -56 is creating hazardous frostbite conditions and residents are advised to take preventative measures.
