Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park needs a steady rain to lower the risk of a forest fire there.

Saskatchewan Environment has now issued a fire ban on the park to the hot, dry conditions we're experiencing in the southwest.

Bud Sabean is the Forest Protection Manager for Cypress Hills. He says his crews are monitoring the situation.

Sabean adds Cypress Hills is open for business but says visitors will have to take extra caution.

No open fires are allowed at the Cypress Hills but camp stoves, barbecues and charcoal briquettes are allowed.
