The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires host the Moose Jaw WINMAR Warriors in U18 AAA action tonight at Innovationplex.

The Legionnaires are coming off a split of the Saskatoon Blazers with a 3-2 overtime win at home on Saturday and a 7-3 loss on Sunday in Eston. Swift Current has a win and a loss against the Warriors this season with both games in Moose Jaw.

Face-off is at 8:15pm.

Local players drop games at Hockey Canada tournaments

Team Saskatchewan with Evangeline Hill, Cassidy Peters and Amiyah Jones of the Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats, dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to Quebec to fall to 1-1 at the National U18 Women’s Hockey Championship in Dawson Creek, BC. Saskatchewan will face Alberta tonight. 

Meanwhile, Broncos defenceman Peyton Kettles and Team Canada Red lost 8-5 to Sweden at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in PEI. They’ll take on the USA in their last round-robin game today. 

Canucks keep hot start going with win over slumping Oilers

Brock Boeser scored twice, and captain Quinn Hughes had a goal and three assists as the Vancouver Canucks beat the visiting Edmonton Oilers 6-2 on Monday night for their fourth straight win and ninth victory in their first 12 games. The Oilers dropped to 2-8-1 after their third-straight loss.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs rallied from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-5 in overtime at Scotiabank Arena. Calle Jarnkrok had two goals, including the overtime winner for the Leafs as they snapped a four-game slide.

The Lightning head to Montreal to face the Canadiens, who have lost three in a row, as part of a 10-game NHL schedule tonight. Elsewhere, the Winnipeg Jets visit the St. Louis Blues and the Calgary Flames host the Nashville Predators at the Saddledome.
