Southwestern Saskatchewan has spoken, with the overwhelming majority of voters in support of Swift Current not changing its name should Taylor Swift visit the province.
The June 15 poll posted on Swift Current Online received 1,182 responses with 938 (79.4 per cent) of the votes in favour of Swift Current keeping its longstanding name.
The proposed name change of Taylor Swift Current was outvoted by Swiftie Current, with the former receiving 74 votes and the latter recording 79.
A name change to Speedy Creek was followed closely behind with 71 votes and the last place option was ACDCurrent logged 20.
