Swift Current’s youth treatment shelter is inviting folks to their seventh annual fundraising race next month.

Dorie’s House Run for Shelter is kicking off on June 10 at the Kinetic Exhibition Park Saloon, taking folks down the beautiful Chinook pathways with options of 10, 16, and five kilometre routes.

Kayla Myers, long time member of the board of directors for the treatment shelter, said the event helps them continue to provide activities and programming for youth across the southwest.

“New this year, we’ve added a 5k colour run,” she said. “You can run, walk, jog. We're also pet friendly. And we've got individual rates as well as a family rate for those that wish to participate in our color run.”

Sneakers hit the pavement at 9 a.m. for the 10 and 16 kilometre runs, while the five kilometre colour run kicks off at 11 a.m.

Folks are encouraged to pre-register online here but can also sign-up on the day of the race.
