Local parents can register their children for the tennis lessons coming up towards the end of the month and put on by the Tennis Association of Swift Current.

Racquets and balls will be provided at the beginner clinics which are available in three age groups; ages 6 - 9, 10 - 14, and 15 and up.

Kimberley Hartwig, a coach with the Tennis Association of Swift Current, encourages those who've considered trying out the sport or picking up a racquet to come and join.

"These are some spring learn-to-play clinics," said Hartwig. "It's really adapted to the people's ages and their levels of play, so what happens is it makes it really easy and accessible for people to learn tennis."

The clinics cost $40 for ages 6 - 9 and 10 - 14 while 15 and up is $50, and are set to take place on May 21, 23, 28, and 30th at the Riverside Tennis Courts in Swift Current.

"It's a great way to get people out in the community, get them doing some physical activity," she added. "This is really a sport for life, you can play from when you're five until you're 95."

"It's just a great way to learn a new sport and meet some new friends."
