A Tuxford construction company was recently fined a hefty bill in Swift Current Provincial Court for a serious workplace injury.

KMS Construction Ltd. pleaded guilty to one count of violating The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations on August 23. Two other charges were withdrawn.

As a result, the Court handed the company a fine of $50,000 with a surcharge of $20,000, for a total of $70,000.

The charges stemmed from an incident near Gull Lake when a worker suffered serious injuries in the cab of a scraper buggy, back in June of 2021.
