Federal Agriculture Minister, Chuck Strahl, won't talk about a date for implementing changes to the Canadian Wheat Board.

Strahl held a closed door roundtable discussion with dual marketing supporters yesterday in Saskatoon.

Strahl would not commit to a timeline for upcoming changes, but a farmer at the meeting said a January 1st date was discussed.

Foam Lake area farmer, Bill Cooper, was at the meeting and says there was talk about going ahead with an open market for Barley, before any changes are made in Wheat.

Meantime, more than 200 Wheat Board supporters attended a public meeting yesterday in Saskatoon.

They say any question about a dual market should be put to farmers in a plebescite, and not made unilaterally by the Federal Government.
