The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires suffered a sweep at the hands of the league-leading Saskatoon Blazers, dropping an 8-3 decision in the Bridge City on Thursday.

The Blazers jumped out to a 5-0 lead by the midway point of the second period on two goals by Dayne Beuker and Lee Shurgot, and markers from Raiden Zacharias and Eric Grandberg. Tristen Mitchell-McElhone and Will Kirwan got the Legionnaires on the board in the third period before Bueker completed the hat trick and Brayden Smith added another goal to make it 8-2 for the Blazers. Jackson Fox wrapped up the scoring for Swift Current.

Jacob Morris and Berney Weston combined for 29 saves as the Blazers outshot the Legionnaires 37-24.

With the loss, the Legionnaires (25-14-3) remain tied with the Prince Albert Mintos for fourth in the league standings and can finish in either fourth or fifth place as they get set to host the Estevan Bears in their last two regular season games on Saturday and Sunday at Innovationplex.
